Construction Superintendent

Boyce Excavating is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team. The
Construction Superintendent will lead and manage the on-site construction team and oversee
all work on site. The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for orderliness on site and
ensure compliance with safety regulations. You will ensure that quality standards are met, and
all equipment and materials are available on-site at all times.

Responsibilities

Work closely with Project Manager(s), Foreman, and client representatives to ensure safety compliance, quality, and productivity on the project
Leading and managing on-site construction team
Coordinating and overseeing all work on site
Responsible for equipment and materials on site
Following the project schedule to ensure deadlines are met
Maintaining records such as daily work reports, daily quantities, concrete, gravel, and asphalt tickets, and RFIs
Attending meetings, as necessary

Qualifications

Experience working with NYSDOT Standard Specifications, Special Specifications and Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK)
In-depth understanding of DOT construction procedures, material, and project management principles
Good working knowledge of project documents including but not limited to plans, specifications, submittals, shop drawings and RFIs
Ability to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material
Ability to wear PPE (hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses) while working
Ability to stand for approximately 6-8 hours a day
Ability to clearly communicate by verbal, written or electronic means to all members of the project team
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, PDF, Google Email and Google Drive
